In this series, I move closer still to a painterly language.
I enter the desert the way one enters a canvas: guided by colour, sculpted by light, drawn to a curve, a shadow, a breath of texture.
Inspired by Nicolas de Staël, Matisse and Rothko, I simplify the scene until only the essential remains.
I am fascinated by subtle variations, by palettes, by endless shades within a single colour. For me, colour is inseparable from matter: texture, depth and surface shift the tone, and the tone sets the feeling.
A coup de cœur is always the beginning, an instant where imagination takes the lead. I reshape reality into calm, abstract forms, so that the photograph becomes a place to breathe and colour becomes the story: a kind of poetry.
